Likes: Karaoke – Shinya loves to sing, even though he’s not good at it, he likes to sing his till his throat is dry whenever he hits the karaoke bars. Although some of his favorite songs originated in Japan, there are some songs he likes to sing from America that he usually finds through the internet. He particularly likes songs from America’s WWE and currently likes the song ‘You Suck’ sung by rapper and wrestler R-Truth. Despite the song being incredible rude and completely opposite of Shinya’s personality, he enjoys singing it.
Parkour - Living in the town of Inaba, Shinya found a way to keep himself interested and in shape with Parkour. With it he can go practically anywhere he wants in little time as he’s explored most of Inaba’s urban jungle and because of that he knows most of the short cuts through the town, though he wishes it was a bit more challenging. With about 5 years of Parkour under his belt, Shinya is very acrobatic and is able to perform various flips and easily scale over fences and other heights that are about twice his height, though he has yet to try and climb a building without getting scolded by the police.
Chinese Diner Aiya - After a good run or when he’s hungry, Shinya is always up for a run to Aiya for their bowls deliciousness. He particular likes their ‘Portal to the Meat Dimension’ bowl that they serve on rainy days, he’s tried it a total of 18 times and not once has he succeed in finishing the bowl. He wonders just how they are able to fit in that much meat in one bowl.
Dislikes: Being Alone in the Dark – despite his name (Shinya means midnight) Shinya has Nyctophobia, it’s not as bad if he’s with someone to keep him company, but when he’s by himself he becomes fear-ridden and becomes agitated. It’s not the dark itself that scares him, but its way he thinks is in it that he fears the most. Due to an incident in his childhood, he wired to think that something is always stalking him at night which leads him to rely on his phone for his saving light.
Boredom – Shinya can’t stand the action of doing nothing and constantly seeks out activities to do or go for a run around town. Because of this is, he can be very impatient if caught at the wrong time by others and will usually run off in a hurry after a trivial conversation. Shinya can be easily distracted from being bored with various things.
Horror Films: Absolutely despites these kinds of movies due to his fear of the dark. Shinya usually suffers more from his phobia of the dark after watching any horror film as his mind will then trick him into think he’s being stalked by whatever it was he watched, becoming fearful and belligerent to others if he feels he’s in real danger, which he usually thinks he is.
Personality: Shinya at first glance seems like a social butterfly, seemingly knowing everyone in Yasoinaba High, though that’s not true as he barely converses with the people he is seen with. Although he’s not a loner who keeps to himself as he is always willing to talk with whoever takes the time to have a conversation with him. Shinya isn’t easily angered as he doesn’t have many standards to abide by during a conversation and in turn he doesn’t hold the other party for anything they say as he’ll laugh it off as a joke before moving on with another topic. Despite all of his sunny disposition, Shinya does know when it’s time to be serious and when he gets serious, all his laughs and smiles are gone and replaced with a stone cold look that holds determination.
Usually a bright person who doesn’t seem to have a problem in a world, that’s how most people would think of Shinya.
However, there is another side to him. When Shinya is in the dark, he becomes completely different. Shinya breaks down in darkness, he can’t stand the thought of something out in the shadows waiting to jump him the moment he has his back turn and kill him. He becomes easily frighten at best and at worst he runs for his life, the only thing that can keep his sanity in the dark is his phone that shines light and gives him a sense of ease as he feels that if he sees whatever is hiding in the dark, then he can punch the hell out of it and feel better. Though unfortunately for him, that never happens…
History: Shinya’s life to date has been mostly normal with School, Parkour, running a small delivery service, nothing real special in Inaba. It’s what happened when he was young is what’s really the main point of his life. When he was little, Shinya and his family went camping in the mountains for the week end. It was a fun experience and Shinya being the curious child that he was, he went exploring in the nearby woods. After seeing many great sights Shinya thought it was time to head back to his family…only problem was he didn’t know which way was back.
Lost in the woods, Shinya wandered around for what seemed like forever and to make things more worse the sun went down and nighttime fell. Shinya was getting a little worried, crying out for his family, but received no answer. After a few minutes of screaming, Shinya had to rest to recover his breath and that’s when he heard a branch snap behind him. Turning around slowly, Shinya saw two glowing yellow eyes staring at him as fear took over his body and ran. He ran as fast as his little body could take him looking back occasionally to see the eyes following him. No matter how far he ran the eyes continued to follow him until he finally ran into his father. Scared out of his wits and so relieved to be safe, he looked back into the shadows and saw that the eyes were no longer following him.
He thought the worse was over when they returned home and it was for a time being. Until he walked home one night and saw the same pair of eyes glaring at him again from the darkness. Rushing home, Shinya told his parents about his ordeal and they told him that it was alright and that there’s no real monster in the darkness and it’s just his imagination. Shinya tried hard to follow that and the eyes did disappear, but the fear of it hiding in the darkness had not gone away. He was still scared of what could be in the darkness; no matter how hard he tried the fear remained until this day.
Appearance: Shinya has shoulder length blonde hair with two bangs that he constantly has to push back having somewhat a slick hairstyle. On his free days he wears dark loose jeans for movement and wears an unbuttoned white long sleeve shirt with a black tank top underneath. For school he wears the normal school uniform buttoned up.

Weapon: When push comes to shove, Shinya will fight back with his feet. Though not as a martial artist would use them, Shinya will employ flips and twists that he learned from Parkour into his kicks to add more force into them.
