It was a fine afternoon, schools having let out a while ago, and everyone happily going about their shopping all across the district. Well, almost everyone...
"... And if I ever catch you punks again, I'll make sure getting turned in to the police is the least of your problems! Go on, git!" Picking up a stray can, Maiku launched it at his would-be attackers, some young punks from a local gang that tried (and failed miserably) to jump him as he crossed through one of the many back alleys that littered Inaba's shopping district. As they finally fled from sight, a sigh escaped the man as he looked down and assessed himself for any cuts or scrapes, seeing as one of them had the foolhardy idea to brandish a knife against him. And indeed, even though he escaped any nasty slashes, his favorite jacket now had a nice, wide slash that managed to hit multiple pockets which were at least thankfully empty.
"Aw maaaann... I really liked this jacket and everything. Fucking hell..." And so, muttering and cursing, Maiku managed to find his way out of the alley and back onto the main street. A few minutes of asking and walking later, he found himself outside of a textile shop, the seemingly only one in town actually.
"Huh... 'Tatsumi Textiles' ? Well, nothing better to do." So, he walked in, and glanced around hoping to find someone working there.
"Yo! Anyone home?"

Kanji gave a long sigh to the empty shop, regretting that he wasn't able to spend time with Rise today.
Damn. He could understand having to help out, but manning the place on his own? His ma just walked out, saying she had errands to run, and left him in charge. He'd have preferred to just trudge to his room upstairs and collapse onto his futon. He'd have preferred Teddie to be around so he could wrestle that dumb bear. Anything else.
He wasn't good with the customers. He tried to stay out of the way, letting his ma deal with people, and he'd do the other stuff. Like lifting, or cutting.
Why didn't he invite Rise home with him? She lived just down the street, too.
Dammit dammit dammit.
The bell gave a chime as the door opened. Kanji's head hesitantly perked up, but he narrowed his eyes at the man who walked in.
"We don't do repairs. Not on leather, anyhow."
People came in asking for that crap all the time. The sign read Tatsumi TEXTILES, not Tatsumi Tailors. But his ma took them anyways.
Well, not this time.

"... Well aren't we in a fine mood today. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed did ya?"
Chuckling, Maiku ran a hand through his fairly wild hair, and looked around the shop, taking in all the colors and different styles that adorned the walls. "Oh man that is a wicked shade of blue on that silk..." And so it went for a few minutes, with Maiku flitting around the store like a hyperactive bee, examining and picking all matter of materials, in a plethora of different colors, styles and lengths.
Eventually, he managed to make his way back to kanji and the counter, looking a little sheepish from beyond the rather large pile of stuff in his hands.
"Eheh, sorry, I can go a little crazy shopping for stuff. But what can I say, I love making crap, yeah?" Carefully, he placed his pile on the counter, and went for his wallet.
"Also, since you know this town a hell of a lot better than I ever could, IS there a tailor or the sort around here? I mean, I really like this jacket...."

This guy was starting to piss him off. Traipsing around in their store like some hyperactive brat.
"Don't you need that measured? You can't exactly take the whole roll," Kanji muttered. And even if it was okay, that'd total over at least two dozen thousand yen. Or so he thought. Either way, it'd be a lot.
"There aren't any leatherworks places around here. You'd be better off getting a new one."
Kanji himself had not really done much with leather, so it wasn't a lie.
