Name: Yukiko Amagi Gender: Female Height: 164 cm (5'5") Weight: U-um, I’d rather not say… Age: 17
Class: 2-2
Clubs: None.
Likes: + The colour red; Yukiko has always worn this colour in some form, she felt it helped her stand out silently without making it obvious. In a sense, it was her own quiet means of trying to be noticed and seen, but ever since Chie said it looked good on her, she found herself loving it more. + Fried tofu; While she is normally worried about her weight, fried tofu is one of the few things she allows herself to indulge in. The first time she had it was by complete chance: she’d gone down to buy herself a small salad from the lunch bar, but all they had left was fried tofu. Disappointed, she took that over nothing and said she would go for a long walk to make up for it later. Little did she know just how delicious it would be. + Jokes; Bad or good, Yukiko loves jokes. Even some of the more ridiculous and obviously bad can send her into a fit of hysterical giggles that can last from a few minutes to a few hours. + Cute things; she doesn’t hide this fact, but she doesn’t advertise it either. From small charms to plush toys, she loves all things cute. + Dogs; All breeds and sizes, though Yukiko favours German Shepherds and Huskies the most. She would love nothing more than to be able to keep one, but unfortunately, her parents are very much against pets. + Summer kimono; She doesn’t hate kimonos, she’s rather fond of them, but she finds summer kimonos to be much more comfortable than the ones she is required to wear while working at the Inn. They are much lighter (both weight-wise and in warmth) and she finds them easier to move around in. + Chie; Her best friend. Chie is, in a sense, her “platonic other half.” The two had been together for a very long time and there isn’t a single friend Yukiko has she trusts more. She’s most at ease around the martial artist and finds she can tell the other almost anything—especially after facing her Shadow. She adores her best friend and often refers to Chie as her “Prince,” but as much as she loves the other, someday, she still wishes for her “real” prince to come—the one she can give her heart to.
Dislikes: + “Fan”boys; It isn’t to say Yukiko doesn’t like boys, but she doesn’t like the obsessive ones that crowd around her. More of them have asked her out than she can count, but really, she’d just like to be left alone. She’d be fine with having male friends casually, but when they start to “fanboy” over her, it’s just difficult and awkward. + Snow; This relates more to her name than the actual substance. At times, she feels like snow itself; something that is only beautiful briefly, then melts away and is forgotten. Something that is cold and no one wants to keep holding once touched. She enjoys the winter very much, but looking around at all the white often reminds her of a place with no escape, which is how she used to feel about the Inn. + Disappointment; She hates disappointing people, there is nothing more to say about that. Knowing she’s let someone down leaves Yukiko with a sick feeling in her stomach. + Feeling trapped; For the longest time, Yukiko felt as if she were trapped in Inaba. It wasn’t to say she hated the Inn itself, but more than anything, Yukiko truly wanted the CHOICE of where she went in life. She still wishes to leave Inaba sometime, if only on vacation for a while, but still. She does not like being pinned down to only one path. + Spicy things; She can handle them to a certain extent, but mild is normally as high as she goes. Despite her affinity with the fire ailment, the flavour and burning sensation in her mouth is not something she enjoys. Especially after the omelette incident. + Omelettes; On that note, she hasn’t been able to eat these since that incident. + Media reporters; She’s never enjoyed a ridiculous amount of attention, especially when it comes to the media. Given her family’s Inn, she has to deal with them a lot and it can be very stressful. Some are ridiculously rude, while others are overly friendly and try to “butter her family up” in other to get information and discounts. Her dislike for them only grew during the Murders.
Personality: Yukiko was always a very quiet and “to herself” person. This isn’t to say she was snobbish by any means, quite the contrary; she is very polite and proper with others. She always minds her manners and remembers to say “please” and “thank you,” but when it comes to speaking informally with others, she’s very awkward. Yukiko has never had a lot of confidence in herself and more often than not, she’s very shy. At times she comes off as “cold” and “uncaring,” but this isn’t because she is; she just doesn’t know what to say or how to say it. Because of this, she has a bad habit of distancing herself from others, under the impression that she will disappoint them or end up being “forgotten.”
While most would assume that someone in her position would be either bratty or cruel, Yukiko is very modest. When it comes to her looks, wealth, and other related subjects, she never shows off or uses it for her advantages. If anything, she does her best to keep it quiet and out of her personal life. She has never let it go to her head and always shows determination with everything she does. The maids at the Inn more often than not try to do things for her, but Yukiko shows her stubbornness in insisting that she is allowed to do it on her own, and even now, she is still trying to find a part-time job.
Around those she is not “close” with, she is very polite. Her manners follow that which is expected of a hostess and she plays the part perfectly. While some of her words are sharper than intended, she is never forceful or rude to authority, guests, or fellow classmates.
Quiet, but not at all soft-spoken, Yukiko is a very good listener, and once she opens up to someone, a caring and gentle side of her comes out that few get to see. While she doesn’t have many friends, she is most at ease with the investigation team, as it seemed silly to hide things away from those who had already seen her at her worst. Despite this, Yukiko is more than willing to make the friends, but merely lacks the confidence to do so. She’s very gentle and kind, and rarely loses her temper, save for a small handful of things that can get her worked up easily.
Though it may not show, she’s quite emotional. When she’s around someone she can truly trust, the spectrum of emotions she holds can be very vast. When she’s sad, she is more likely to allow herself to slump her shoulders or frown, and when she’s happy, her true and unforced smile can light up her entire face. Her laughter—the joyous kind, not her hysterical giggles often spurred by rather bad jokes—is soft, but sweet, a warm giggle that only brings out her smile even more.
Over all, Yukiko is very much the “Priestess” of her Arcana. She’s polite and understanding, able to keep whatever secrets are handed to her with her life and willing to help her friends as much as her power allows. She’s willing to do anything for the people she cares about, no matter what the cost, and will go to any lengths it takes to do so.
History: Yukiko was born and raised in the town of Yasoinaba, and she’s never been outside of it, though she dearly wishes she can someday. Her birth was celebrated by her entire family, and from a young age she was doted on and raised to become the next inheritor of the traditional-style inn her family runs known as the “Amagi Inn” which is often praised as a valued and hidden jewel in Inaba. The training was, of course, hard, but Yukiko accepted it and did her best in order to please her parents. Still, such a task would be overwhelming for any child; no child at such an age should be expected to become “perfect” after all.
As she continued to grow, Yukiko only allowed herself to suffer in silence. Complaining was unfair to a family that, while strict, loved her a great deal. The maid’s were ready to dote on her at a moment’s notice, but she still valued the independence she had. She didn’t like people doing things for her all the time. At times, running away seemed like such an easy option, and more than once she nearly pulled through with it, but before she could reach the train station and get away, there would be some rationalisation she would find to stay. Even if the reason was only a small one.
One day, Yukiko happened upon a puppy. Weak and wet, the small creature melted her heart and she pulled him into her arms and hurried back home. After feeding and washing him up to be as clean as she could manage, she affectionately dubbed the puppy “Chousokabe” and waited until her parents were next available and showed her parents. Unfortunately, the acceptance for the animal she’d hoped to receive never came and despite her pleas, her parents refused to allow her to keep him. Furious, Yukiko fled from the Inn for the final time, Chousokabe in her arms. However, she didn’t make it very fall at all, by the time she reached the Samegawa Floodplain, the raven stopped and sat on the hill, staring down at the water as she tried to figure out what to do. Tears had started to gather in her eyes, but before they could fall, she was approached by another girl her age with short-brown hair and a bright, friendly smile.
Before Yukiko knew it, she’d made a friend in the young martial arts master Chie Satonaka. It was Chie who took the puppy Yukiko had found in (claiming that the name Chousokabe was too hard to say and dubbing him Muku instead) and convinced the raven to return home. Shortly after that, the two became inseparable best friends. It was because of Chie that Yukiko managed to earn a little more confidence. Having the other girl as a friend worked wonders for her, and the stress at the inn lessened a little—or at least it became easier. Still, it was a lot for her to bare on her own.
Life continued on and Yukiko simply made herself go through the motions. She continued to train and work toward being the perfect hostess and Japanese women, but that didn’t stop her dreams of escape and yearn for a “Prince” to come and take her away from the quiet rural town. It wasn’t until the Murder Incidents of 2011 and the creation of the Investigation Squad was formed that the Yukiko’s life finally reached a plateau in which everything got easier. Facing her Shadow, while terrifying and hard, was one of the best things that could have happened to her and the release it brought was calming. While she still wishes to leave Inaba someday, she is much more embracing of her life and has stopped seeing it as a cage and burden.
Shortly after the Murder incidents were solved and life started to quiet down again, Yukiko began to work on being more open in school. Her smiles, while small, were more frequent and she stopped pushing people away as much as she had before. While it was only a small step, the overall effect of it worked wonders. She remained shy, but it helped a lot. Her biggest step was taken after she formally met the captain of the basketball team, Kou Ichijo.
Their meeting was a complete chance. Yukiko had been downstairs waiting for Chie as she talked to Souji about something in their classroom and Kou had approached her about the rumours that she was dating Yosuke. When she confirmed them, Kou looked upset, but then commented to her on how it must be hard not to have her best friend around as much as she had before. Yukiko insisted that she was alright, but eventually admitted that it made her lonely and at times it was hard. Eventually the subject was changed, and by the end of the conversation, the innkeeper had agreed to tutor Kou in English five days a week during her breaks while she worked at the inn. It seemed like nothing at the time, but with each tutoring session, the two of them slowly grew closer. Some days they would end up not talking about homework at all, instead chatting about school and bits about their personal lives and everything in-between.
Weeks passed and slowly Yukiko found herself looking forward to their tutoring sessions more and more, slowly working up the courage to want to ask him if it was alright if they hung out on days other than school ones. Through it all, she had somehow managed to fall for the captain, though she, as of yet, has not confessed.

I suppose it would seem awkward for you to approve yourself, so I guess I'll do it for you. Done and done!
