Personality: On the surface – and it is a very thick surface, nearly all of her really – Hiromi is a calm and cheerful young woman, a little flirty and very generous with her time and affection. She likes helping others, when she can – she’s attentive and motherly, and soft-spoken without being shy. She makes friends easily, and while her relatively plain demeanor won’t exactly be making her a school idol anytime soon, her relations with the rougher sex is hardly strained.
Then, on the rare occasion something… troubles her, she “flips.” Or, rather, the aspects of her personality are pushed to a darker extreme. “Motherly” becomes domineering. “Helpful” becomes… well, kind of creepy. Definitely a bit sadistic. “Yandere” comes to mind. Don’t drink her tea if you have the slightest reason to believe she’s mad at you. Don’t be within reach at all if she thinks you’ve hurt a friend. Acupuncture needles can carry an awful lot of interesting things if the shaft along the point’s been carefully nicked then dipped. She’s vaguely aware she shouldn’t escalate things that far – she’s more aware, though, of the general hopelessness of academic bureaucracy, the ineffectiveness of half-hearted responses, and the general vulnerability of her sex.
History: Though not as… mystically inclined… as her Tatsumi Port City uncle, Hiromi nonetheless proudly carries on her family’s tradition of herbal medicine. She’s studied at her parent’s feet almost since birth, carrying her zeal over to school with a dedication to biology and chemistry in particular that makes her well-appreciated by faculty and students alike, the latter especially due to her zeal in teaching others. …this is somewhat at the cost of her other subjects, though, as she simply cannot get a decent grasp on Japanese Literature.
She isn’t an Inaba native, though her place of birth isn’t too far away, and also in the countryside. There was an… incident… at her middle school. There used to be a gang of bullies.
Emphasis on past tense.
She wasn’t provably complicit in anything, but… for her sake, and marginally because property prices were lower in the region anyhow, she agreed with her parents to attend Yasogami High her freshman year. There are regrets – even if her hometown’s only a relatively short bus ride away, and internet access means they can talk to each other anyhow, the demands of the school year naturally means she and her old friends will drift away.
But life in Inaba is peaceful – relatively. The murders of the prior year aside, the town seems to be stirring back up to life, and lingering health concerns from the fog has helped drive her parent’s business (especially after the spring rains). Other than that, it’s a calm life in this town, her new colleagues have been friendly, and the guys are rather cute~
Appearance:
Hiromi, for all intents and purposes, is a modest, ordinary-looking Japanese girl – a little on the short side, but that’s probably more of a rare charm point for her than anything. This is not to say she doesn’t have a noticeable presence – her personal “style” tends towards an eclectic mix of tradition and modernity, noted especially by her preference for a simple yukata at home or when minding the store… paired with a giant set of headphones. Of which successive years of teachers’ve given up trying to separate her from. At least she’s courteous enough to put them around her neck during lessons.
Glasses: Frameless glasses with a dark-red trim along the arms.
Weapon: Kusari-fundo – a thin, three-foot chain with heavy steel spikes on both ends.
Statistics:
~Knowledge: 3-Expert
~Courage: 4-Daring
~Diligence: 2-Persistent
~Expression: 5-Enthralling
~Understanding: 2-Generous
First Form – Awakening
Persona:
Aetna – The Sicilian nymph Aetna served as arbitrator between the gods Hephaestus and Demeter, symbolized by her patron locus: a volcano representing both the fires of the forge and the might of the earth. Through either Zeus or Hephaestus, she gave birth to the Palici, whose dominions presides over three small lakes that spew sulfurous vapors, linking them to the underworld.
~Name: Aetna
~Arcana: Empress
~Drain:
~Weak: Ice
~Null:
~Resist: Fire
~Skills: Diarama, Mediarama, Posimudi, Poison Skewer, Poisma, Agilao, Maragi, Mudo
Aetna offers a well-rounded selection of supportive and offensive options, though isn’t particularly impressive along any specific lines. Her relative frailty and lack of agility, however, makes her an easy target, and her fire-based repertoire doesn’t grow very far.
Second Form – Realization
Persona: Demeter – The Greek goddess of the Earth is part of the primary Olympian pantheon – a mother figure to all that lives in the generous bounties of her domain, but also a source of tragedy. The season of winter, of barren lands and harsh, frugal living, is said to be when Demeter mourns for her daughter’s exile in the land of Hades.
~Name: Demeter
~Arcana: Empress
~Drain:
~Weak:
~Null: Fire
~Resist: Dark
~Skills: Salvation, Amrita, Samarecarm, Poison Boost, Blight, Poison Wave, Mudoon, Mamudoon
Demeter’s support suite is very nearly unmatched – but she truly shines at the grind, focusing on a combination of skills that drastically weakens any number of enemies, or eliminates them outright in an eldritch haze of darkness. Against bosses … she’s not so great. On the other hand, her lack of a weakness and generous SP pool makes life a lot easier for everybody else.
Did you read the rules…?
Far in mist a tower waits
Like a merciless tomb, devouring the moonlight
