Series: Persona 4
Name: Yousuke Hanamura

Height: 175 cm
Weight: 58 kg
Age: 16, but turns 17 over the course of the game.
Class: King Moron's homeroom
Clubs: None.
Likes:
Girls- Girls, girls, girls. Like any teenage boy at his age, Yousuke openly expresses his interests in the opposite sex. From asking Souji where he keeps his "stash" to blackmailing girls into skimpy swimwear, there is nothing he won't say or do in order to catch a glimpse at the female anatomy.
Music- Obviously, if there are two things that were ever remotely compatible in the universe, it would be Yousuke Hanamura and his headphones. Where there is a Yousuke, there is a set of headphones playing a catchy beat. He peppers his fighting style with second nature habits, like tapping his toes to the beat, or even clumsily throwing his knives to whatever the rhythm dictates.
Mischief-What teenage boy worth his grain of salt doesn't like a little mischief? Yousuke is highly competitive, and sometimes an unwittingly trouble-making criminal; both of which are a cause that ever so easily lead him into some plot or another. With a wink and a smile to assure that things will be all right, he does enjoy his prank-pulling. The results? Not so much.
Bikes- Obviously, this guy missed a few biking lessons as a kid, but that doesn't stop him from pioneering through rain or snow on a rickety piece of metal and rubber! Yousuke, however, looks for something a bit more high maintenance--- like a piece of metal and rubber with a motor.
Food-And last but not least, Yousuke enjoys a good bite to eat. Does he really need a reason to enjoy a scrumptious steak? Assuming it doesn't involve a freeloader train.
Dislikes:
Rainbows- Yousuke suffers from a severe case of homophobia, indicated by his reluctance to enter Kanji's dungeon. Or any masculine "dungeon" for that matter. Did you see a euphemism there? I think you did.
Freeloader Trains- Yousuke has a light income, and according to Chie's logic, one that is highly expendable if it means buying Teddie some clothes. Or buying her a juicy steak.
Losing-Too fruitful the results and arduous the effort for Yousuke to enjoy a loss. Between Chie's smug expression, a critical hit to the nads, or the sacrifice of his beloved money, what could there be for Yousuke to find enjoyable in defeat?
Personality: Yousuke Hanamura is synonymous with comic relief in the world of Persona 4. He is often times outspoken when he finds the situation comfortable enough to be opinionated and is one of the first to issue Souji a friendly hello(Assuming he's not occupied with wrestling a trash can.) He enjoys mischief when there is a hope it won't expend any part of his anatomy. He also has an ongoing competitive relationship with Chie Satonaka, with whom he relishes the challenge, but often regrets the end result. Yousuke is verbally clumsy in desperate situations, and will often react reflexively before thinking of the outcome. Persistence and a strong will are Yousuke's stronger attributes, but his adamant can often lead to clashes within the group. However,Yousuke is also an awkward teenage boy with his share of insecurities and issues. He has a tendency to keep what he wants to say locked on the inside, and has temperamental outbursts when the pressure caves in. He fears isolation and consoles himself in the company of others, while also making sure others are not aware of said fears. He is quick to judge and will often stick to the assumptions he makes, but can be coaxed out of his own judgment. Selectively intuitive, Yousuke's unwitting intuition is an indispensable asset to the team that helps lay stepping stones to the solving of the mystery.
History: The Hanamura clan is just your typical picturesque family; the epitome of the middle class regime. After his father gained a promotion to open a Junes in the middle of the bookdocks, he "moved the whole family with him." As a result of his father's impeding chain on the "mom and pop's" small businesses,Yousuke Hanamura then becomes the Yasoinaba hackeysack. At first he was socially awkward and often took his share of the blame for ruining the local small business. He said little to anyone else, and had hardly a friend before Seta Souji showed up. This is indicated by his formality toward Chie in the beginning of the game, as he only refers to her by her last name plus an honorific. There is no further indication of Yousuke having a close relationship with anyone else. Yousuke was just a timid kid who only spoke when spoken to, or felt the need to speak to others. This could perhaps be because of his hatred to being stuck in the sticks where he felt he hardly belonged.
However, that all changed when one particular beauty caught his eye. Saki Konishi, the scion of Konishi Liquor and Yousuke's upperclassman, was the first to make him feel welcome in the otherwise hostile town. As a result, Yousuke began to open up more and began to develop feelings for her. A dull six months passed with Yousuke leading his typical teenage life of attending school and balancing a part-time job.
Things quickly changed when another iconic figure in Yousuke's life came to Yasoinaba---Seta Souji. Yousuke approaches the boy and extends his hand in friendship, hoping to gain a friend empathetic with being the new kid. Quickly after he showed up, strange things happened that turned Yousuke's world upside down. Yousuke suffered a devastating blow when one of these mysterious occurences claimed the life of Saki Konishi. Vowing to seek the reason behind her death, Yousuke dives head-first into the T.V. world, where he believes he might find the answer to that mystery. He comes to a shocking discovery when he learned that the apple of his eye wasn't so sweet after all. Spurned by the discovery of Saki's inner thoughts, his darker inner self manifested before him. The "Shadow" then reveals that Yousuke was no better than Saki; he never really wanted to avenge her death, but sought the adventure he had long desired by diving into the T.V. realm. It is revealed that Yousuke's fear of isolation force him to reach out for the company of others, thus painting a portrait of a very pathetic---very selfish---teenage boy. After Seta Souji saves Yousuke from his Shadow, Yousuke comes to terms with the dark truths, but holds strong to his vow of avenging Saki's death.
As a result of witnessing Yousuke's Shadow, there is no other person that knows Yousuke better than his soon-to-be best friend, Seta Souji. As the story unfolds, Yousuke begins to reach out and creates everlasting bonds with an incredible group of people. On the Magician's path, he learns to accept his own selfishness and the reasons his one-sided affection was never reciprocated by Saki Konishi. As the events unfold, he matures from an immature teenage boy to a mature young adult with the resolve to move on.
