Series: Persona 3
Name: Minako Arisato Gender: Female Height: 5'5'' Weight: 115 lbs Age: 16
Class: 2-F
Clubs: Tennis
Likes:
Music: Minako loves to listen to music. She never leaves home without her portable music player and headphones and listens to them wherever she goes. Though, she does have the courtesy to turn the music off when speaking to others, but sometimes uses them as a means of silently telling people she isn’t interested.
Cooking: Since their parents were always busy, Minako and Minato had to take the time to learn to cook themselves. Minako loved spending hours in the kitchen with her brother preparing meals, though she preferred to make the desserts over the main meals.
Tennis: Fun sport is fun, and she’s good at it. Her love for the sport grew when she was able to join a club for it at Gekkoukan and the chance to be able to play it with a real team was awesome for her.
Piano: While it isn’t commonly known, Minako loves to play the piano. There was an old baby grand that was kept in the basement of her home when she was a child and almost every night she would spent several hours playing the instrument.
Helping Others: More or less self-explanatory. She enjoys helping others and seeing the smiles on their faces when it’s all said and done and its always the smile that makes it worth all the trouble.
Dislikes:
Large Crowds : She doesn’t like them… at all. Especially when she doesn’t know the people. Of course, things like amusement parks are fun, but she tends to avoid ridiculous numbers of people when she can.
Thunderstorms: She hates them… the loud noises and hard rain have scared her ever since she was a young child. Whenever one comes through the area she almost always finds a place where she can be alone and avoid other people, as she doesn’t want them to see her weakness for them.
Stress: Of course, being one of the leaders of SEES comes with a lot of this, though she really doesn’t like it. As much as she loves helping others, she doesn’t like it when everyone relies on her completely, as that leads to possible failure. And she hates letting people down.
Fruitcake: Its awful and she hates everything about it. The flavor, the texture… everything.
Personality: Minako is quiet and somewhat reserved in public, but despite her aloof and somewhat distant aura, she's quite friendly. However, she doesn't hand over her trust easily to strangers. It takes a long time for her to get comfortable enough with someone to share things about herself or her past, but she is always willing to listen to everyone and anyone; whether for casual conversation or a serious chat. Around the people she is more familiar with, she will talk more than usual, but she isn't the chatterbox type--her ears work better than her mouth. She’d much rather listen to someone else talk than herself, but when it comes to defending those the cares about or standing up for what she believes in, all her hidden “spunk” comes pouring out.
She has a unique sense of humor and will at least smile at even the smallest of jokes. She loves pulling pranks on occasion, most of which target her dear brother. Because of her charming personality, she often gets away with them because a 'sweet and innocent' girl like her wouldn't do something so 'awful’, but she rarely uses that to her advantage, as most people know about her teasing and joking antics (which are always taken well, as she never pulls a prank or joke that would knowingly hurt someone.)
While she doesn't like crowds, Minako enjoys spending time with her friends and isn't too picky about the activities she does with them. She prefers small-scale activities to large-scale ones (but vacations are always nice.) She much prefers small-scale celebrations, and would be more willing to go to a party amongst her circle of friends than a large public event, but if anyone asked her to join them, she would more than likely say yes. From horror movies to combat training, she simply enjoys the company of those she cares about.
Very much like her older brother, Minako is skilled in academia, athletics, and the arts (acting and music; she can't draw or paint to save her life.) She loves playing the piano--and she's quite skilled at it--and someday hopes to learn violin, as well. She enjoys all sports, but is best when it comes to tennis, soccer, and swimming and she doesn't care at all for 'batting' sports like baseball or softball.
She loves to read, and it is because of this that she has been able to raise her academic knowledge so quickly. From textbooks to fantasy novels, she loves to learn and throw herself into the world of fiction. A good video game can always catch her interest, but she prefers to play virtual games with friends, rather than alone. Whenever she isn't reading, she's either spending time with Minato, a small group of friends, or training outside for archery or some other sport.
Because she witnessed the rather dramatic death of her parents and Death being "sealed" within her brother, her greatest fear is that one day he might die or suddenly disappear (why this fear came about, she doesn’t know, as she barely remembers her young childhood). Thus, she can have a bit of a brother-complex and she can often be seen following after Minato like a little duckling. She doesn't lack independence or self-sufficiency, but because of her childhood, she is more comfortable when she is with her brother or having him within her line of sight.
History: Most of Minako’s childhood was a happy one. She got along well with her parents and loved to spent time with her (slightly) older brother. While she was very quiet as a child, she was friendly and kind to those around her (although reserved) and enjoyed extending a helping hand back then as much as she does now.
When Minako was three years old, the front door of her house was left open as her parents brought in groceries and, unbeknown to them, she wondered outside. Not noticing the child's disappearance at the time, the door was closed when they finished and she was stuck outside under the gray skies that threatened bad weather. Less than an hour later, a violent thunderstorm raged over the city that the Arisato's lived in and Minako was left outside to fend for herself against the rain, lightning and loud thunder.
As she wondered around outside, desperately searching for her parents, lighting struck a tree and it crashed to the ground atop a car several yards ahead of her. Terrified, the young girl ran under a nearby picnic bench in the yard of a neighbor who lived down the street, cowering. The storm had nearly passed--with only rain falling--when the neighbor wondered outside to see the damage and found her under his table.
Upon recognizing Minako, the neighbor eased her out from under the table and returned her home immediately to her terrified parents who had noticed her disappearance and the confused older brother who couldn't find his sister. Since then, Minako has always had an irrational, but understandable, fear of thunderstorms.
At the age of six, her parents were slain by the incarnation of the Death Arcana during the newly-born Dark Hour. If this was not enough, she witnessed her twin brother, Minato, become a living vessel for the Shadow through Aigis's powers. Because of the loss of her parents, and the knowledge of her brother's hidden secret (which, at the time she didn't quite understand), she has developed a bond as deep as any sister could have for her sibling. They never left each other's side during the rest of their childhood, Minako preferring to hold Minato's arm and look at the floor during a conversation.
When she and Minato were told that they would be attending Gekkoukan High School, Minako was more than pleased to get out of their current living arrangements. The idea of being able to live in a independently in a dorm fascinated her and she was eager to leave as soon as possible. Unlike Minato, Minako arrived at the S.E.E.S dorm in the middle of the day along with the rest of their belongings in order to move Minato's things into his room--knowing that he would be arriving late at night--choosing to take the room next to his rather then one on the girl's floor.
